Birthdays and Butterflies

Good evening Everyone!  Today I wanted to share something I created for some special ladies who have birthdays this month.  My cards' bases are Pool Party with a border of Crumb Cake card stock.  I absolutely fell in love with the Swallowtail stamp from Stampin' Up! and haven't tried to use it until now.  Using the emboss resist technique, I stamped the Swallowtail in Versamark ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, and used clear embossing powder to cover the stamped image.  I used a heat tool to set the embossing powder.  Using a sponge and inks in Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, and Daffodil Delight, I swirled the inks (one at a time) over the Swallowtail image.  After I finished using all the inks, I used a dry paper towel to wipe off the excess ink from the image.

I stamped "happy birthday" onto scraps of Very Vanilla card stock, punched out the phrase with the Modern Label punch, and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I attached the phrases with small pieces of dimensionals.  That is it!  What do you think?

I wish you a wonderful week, and I hope you find time to be inspired and create!

I don't always like my cards to be exactly alike, so I tilted the stamp differently on each card.
